Juicy Couture knows how to have fun – evident from their signature glamorous prints and vibrant colours obviously. Pair it with the ever growing yoga movement in Singapore, and you’ll get a double (and healthy) dose of a dynamic time.
The Los Angeles brand kicked off its Spring 2014 Collection, Go West, and the launch of their new line of active-wear, Juicy Couture Sports, with Stretch City. Stretch City is a yoga lifestyle website listing studios, shops, restaurants, events, and promotions related to wellness and eco-living in Singapore. It is the baby of two proud mamas – actress/model Liv Lo and fulltime yoga instructor Yun Ng.
The collaboration offered guests a complimentary Dance Yoga session curated by Yun, Liv, and fellow yogi/DJ Amanda Ling. Amanda’s upbeat electronic music gelled well with the fast-paced yoga movements – the session was Singapore’s first ever Dance Yoga gathering. The 45-minute session saw participants following through various yoga moves accompanied by Liv who was clad in a leopard-print sports bra with yoga pants from the Juicy Couture Sports collection.
“It was as much an introduction as it was interesting for visitors to see the dynamics of a yoga class and how music affects the practice,” explained Liv. She added that the Juicy Sport collection encompassed both style and functionality, making it on trend to look great while getting a workout.
Speaking of style, the guests were also invited to view the collection, which is now in stores. Juicy Couture’s Spring 2014 Collection stays true to its playful spirit with a diverse range of styles: cheetah prints, eye-catching graphics, Bohemian glamour -it all exudes coolness without sacrificing on comfort.
The expansion into the active-wear category, Juicy Couture Sports, is further proof that the label carries customers from day to night easily and seamlessly.Contemporary multimedia artist, Baron Von Fancy, has also joined the brand in the season of love, to create a capsule collection of Juicy Couture’s catchphrases in his signature bold, hand-printed font.
To complement the sporty atmosphere, healthy food and beverages were served. Veganburg, an organic vegan burger fast food restaurant, served up cheese balls and vege-patty burgers. Local juicing start-up, Hic Juice, offered raw, organic cold-pressed juices, tying in the themes of sports, health and wellness.
