Snip, snip! That’s the glorious sound of a new, fresh haircut. Unless you go to the wrong barber. Not at The Panic Room though. What started out as a web store turned into a full-fledged, up and running barbershop that takes in the scruffy and unkempt and churns out the prim and immaculate. They’ve dubbed themselves a safe house for hair-tastrophes and we don’t doubt it.
Having played host to The Nomad Barber in December, The Panic Room is becoming the place to visit for barbers from the world over. This 19-22 February, The Nomad Barber’s buddy and fellow hair-master Klipper Kem will be visiting the barbershop all the way from Hong Kong. This is the guy known for setting the standard for “The Perfect Barber Shave”!
Klipper Kem, or Kem Mehmet, has been in the male grooming industry since he was 15, and there is no doubt he knows all the tricks a pair of scissors and a sharp blade can offer. He has been classically trained as a Head Barber and have worked at the luxurious Selfridges, situated in the heart of London’s Oxford Street.
Klipper Kem specialises in European, Afro, and Asian hair types, beards and skin care, and has with him a wealthy knowledge in lifestyle maintenance. He will be doing haircuts ($40) and shaves ($25 onwards) at The Panic Room so don’t miss this hair-tastic opportunity.
The Panic Room has also piled up on its barbering products. The Bluebeards Revenge Ultimate Shaving Experience consists of manly scents, thick lathers, soft brushes, carefully engineered tools and its’ star ingredient — Decelerine. The use of this miracle ingredient in its products has shown a 30% decrease in hair length and 16% reduction in hair density after 60 days. It also moisturises and eradicates shaving rashes, burns, and unsightly ingrown hairs.
The Luxury Shaving Cream ($28/100ml) has added ingredients to specifically combat tough stubble whereas the Post Shave Balm ($28/100ml) nourishes the skin with its Witch Hazel and Aloe Vera ingredient. But don’t forget the Pre Shave Oil ($28/125ml) which moisturises your beard prior to applying the shaving cream, eliminating nicks and bumps which is essential when shaving your groin hair. Uneven skin is more prone to problems like ingrown hairs and you might even cut yourself.
Other Bluebeards product includes the bespoke and precision engineered double edged razor, Scimatar De Razor ($80) and a range of Hair and Body series ($28 each) that’s packed with a manly and delicious scent.
