Kult Gallery presents the Chungking Express, a group exhibition inspired by a 1994 Hong Kong film of the same name. The filmmaker Wong Kar Wai is notoriously known for his highly stylised movies and Kult Gallery is paing homage to Wong Kar Wai and his legendary cinematography through this free of charge exhibition.
This is the third in a series of classic film inspired exhibitions that Kult has curated. Previously, they hosted RedRum which was inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, and Androids Dream of Electric Sheep inspired by Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner.
More than 25 artists have used various mediums to interpret the emotionally provocative Chungking Express which showcases Hong Kong in the early nineties. The exhibition starts 20 December to 25 January 2014.
Held at the Kult Studio & Gallery (11 Upper Wilkie Rd, Emily Hill C2-5), this exhibition is not to be missed. Opening hours are from Mondays – Fridays, 11am to 7pm and Saturdays, 1pm to 8pm. *Please note, Kult Gallery will be closed for 24th to 26th December, 31st December to 2nd January.
