As teens, we were probably in a hurry to push away anything that wasn’t very cool, too cutesy, or cartoonish. Ask a growing child to put on a Bugs Bunny tee and he’ll reject it, pointing instead to a slouchy raglan or plain black tee. Cartoon prints were for kids. Then adulthood rolled in and now we are just wishing for the days when we could frolick around in a Daffy Duck hoodie and eat cereal without a care in the world. With Lazy Oaf’s latest collaboration with Warner Brothers this Fall ’13 (they teamed up to do a Batman collection in 2012), your days of lounging in Looney Tunes apparel is back. Trust Lazy Oaf to make childhood cartoons cool again.
Celebrating designer Gemma Shiel’s love for the classic Looney Tunes cartoon iconography, the collection highlights the maniacal personalities of the Looney Tunes characters playing around with crazed prints of a puzzled Daffy Duck, cross-eyed Bugs Bunny and spaced-out Taz. The characters are blown up big or put in unexpected places – Sylvester and Tweety can finally be side by side with their prints on a bralet.
Inspired by 90s street wear, the Lazy Oaf men’s collection has an American sports twist with the That’s All Folks catchphrase printed across a short sleeved baseball shirt. The collection is also completed with the range of signature Lazy Oaf accessories such as beanies and caps with a Looney Tunes takeover.
The Lazy Oaf x Looney Tunes collaboration collection will be available in November at ACTUALLY, 313 Orchard Road, 313@Somerset #04-06 Singapore 238895 and price ranges from $39 to $155.
