Nor “Phoenix” Diana has made a name for herself by becoming the first hijab-clad Professional Wrestler to win the Malaysia Pro Wrestling Wrestlecon Championship last year. This year, she graces the front cover of Forbes Asia magazine as she made it into the prestigious ‘30 Under 30’ List under the ‘Entertainment and Sports’ section.
At only 20 years old, Nor “Phoenix” Diana has taken the world by storm with her wrestling moves and championship wins. Breaking the barrier of hijabis in sports, she aims to inspire women – regardless of religion and culture.
The 2020’s Forbes ‘30 Under 30 Asia’ List has 14 Malaysians as honourees. Sharing the list is Short Track Speed Skater, Anja Chong, co-founders of Dropee, Lennise Ng and Aizat Raim, and co-founder of Muslim matchmaking website Baituljannah, Wan Hasifi Amin Wan Zaidon, to name a few.
The List also features a diverse group of people across 22 countries which represent the Asia-Pacific region. Some notable international honourees are K-Pop girl group Twice and actress of Oscar-winning film Parasite, So-dam Park, Australia’s top tennis player, Ashleigh Barty and Liverpool player, Takumi Minamino.
