With the Movement Control Order commenced on 18 March 2020, many establishments were forced to cease operations. Unfortunately, this also includes Malaysia’s National Zoo. Now, with the order extending until 14 April 2020, it is 4 weeks of no visitors paying entrance fees.
Prioritising the well-being of the zoo animals, they have dipped into their emergency fund for the care of over 5000 animals. This, however, would only be enough for approximately 3 months. Hoping to raise more funds, they have announced the ‘Adopt An Animal’ programme!
All proceeds will go to the animals in need. Choose from adopting a tiger, penguin, lion and many more. You will receive a certificate of adoption and a shout out on their annual report! Click here to visit their website for more info. Together we can help our furry (or scaly) friends at the zoo.
