The first-ever Netflix and Marvel San Diego Comic-Con panel took place on 22 July, featuring the star-studded cast of the Netflix original series Marvel’s Luke Cage, including fan-favorite Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Alfre Woodard, Mahershala Ali, Theo Rossi, Simone Missick, Frank Whaley and showrunner and Executive Producer, Cheo Hodari Coker.
Moderated by Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television and Executive Producer on the show, the panel was packed with surprises and sneak peeks including an appearance by Jon Bernthal, who was introduced to fans as Frank Castle (“The Punisher”) in season two of Marvel’s Daredevil, and will be starring in the Netflix original series Marvel’s The Punisher; exclusive clips of Marvel’s Luke Cage, a surprise video by Finn Jones, who plays Danny Rand in the upcoming Marvel’s Iron Fist and a first look at the series, the season 3 announcement of Marvel’s Daredevil, and the logo reveal of Marvel’s The Defenders, which will unite Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, as they face their biggest threat yet.

The 4500 fans were also treated to a Comic Con teaser of the Netflix original series Marvel’s Luke Cage, which premieres globally on September 30, 2016 at 12:01am PT. This is the third show in the Defenders series to launch on Netflix, following Marvel’s Daredevil and Marvel’s Jessica Jones.
Netflix also released a first look teaser to upcoming series Marvel’s Iron Fist. The teaser, which played to an enthusiastic crowd, introduces Daniel Rand (Finn Jones) who returns to New York City after being missing for years. He fights against the criminal elements corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist. Iron Fist is the fourth of five planned Marvel series on Netflix.
