Early this year, local label DEPRESSION released Not Cool Enough (aka NCE). The line is K-Pop influenced, with style icons like G-Dragon and bands like SHINEE as fashion inspiration. Needless to say, NCE’s first collection was a hit with streetwear enthusiasts. It’s no surprise that despite having just hit the mid-mark of 2014, the label is ready to please its fans with a Version 2.0.
NCE’s V2.0 will continue their off-season collections with key street staples, such as the oversized tee, the long tee, sweatshirts, sweatpants, varsity jackets, snapbacks, backpacks and sneakers. The new collection was launched in conjunction with the official opening of multi-label boutique SECTS SHOP, located at Orchard Gateway. Skulls, crosses and symbols form the main aesthetic, with a new addition of pleather pieces.
“Streetwear is back, thanks to the stylish world of KPOP. In fact, the streetstyle scene is getting more and more exciting, with streetwear looking more edgy and experimental. There’s nothing like that in the Singaporean fashion scene, and we wanted to be the first to do it before everyone starts following,” said Kenny Lim, designer of NCE and DEPRESSION.
Most recently, the collection was seen worn by Singaporean singer Jocie Guo Mei Mei, and NCE Creative Director Andrew Loh has also admitted to wearing their streetwear label more than their main DEPRESSION line. With an affordable price range of $59-$99, you can join Andrew and Jocie soon. NCE V2.0 is exclusively available at SECTS SHOP, Orchard Gateway #04-14.
