With the “new normal” in place, wearing a face mask outdoors is essential. As for services personnel, they are required to don on face shields to ensure the safety of their customers. There are many face masks with unique designs available but none of face shields – until now.
Maysa Talerd, a 31-year-old single mother from Thailand, designs face shields with cartoon characters on them! From Darth Vader to characters of Thai folklore, Talerd aims to revamp the boring ol’ transparent face shield. Not only that, with these designs, she hopes that more children wear them and protect themselves.
The entrepreneur designs and press stickers onto the face shield herself. The equipment is sold for 180 baht (approximately SGD8.06/RM24.75) a piece. Thailand currently has a little over 3000 COVID-19 cases nationwide with only single digit local transmission recorded daily. We hope these face shields will make its way to Singapore & Malaysia soon!
