Elegantly lining the walls of Volvo Art Gallery are colourful whimsical paintings that form Jeannie Yeoh’s solo exhibition titled “Paint My Dream”. An artist who draws her creative inspiration from everyday objects, living environment and social interactions, Jeannie has a keen interest in nature and people, often highlighting the close relationship between them in her works.
“I am always inspired and fascinated by nature’s purity and rawness which have greatly influenced me to create beyond my imagination. My art is playful and whimsical, free flowing and yet subtle in its composition. The colours and style of my art reflect the eclectic blend of my cultural background as a Peranakan. And with an inclusion of mysticism in my paintings, I like to leave space for the viewers’ imagination,” Jeannie expressed.
