Peonfx is cruising on a new venture with its recent Kilas collaboration. This time, the pedal enthusiasts take a stab at crafting skateboards that they can call their own. The partnership between Peonfx and Kilas fell into place quite naturally since Peonfx’s Wolfywoot had always wanted to make skateboards while Kilas’ desire was to have his artwork on a different medium, instead of the usual pen and paper.
The Peonfx x Kilas skateboard series is about bringing back the ol’skool – nothing technical, just plain cruising. Comprising four different artworks on four different board shapes, the skateboard collection sports a stripped down minimalist look, with Kilas’ artworks being laser-etched onto meticulously-shaped 35-year-old ash wood. Each deck comes with two leather risers and an anti-slip surface – no grip tape required there. The final touch involved a finishing coat of clear lacquer to keep the natural grain of the wood visible.
The Peonfx x Kilas skateboards are available at Peonfx’s webstore, with a retail price range of SGD160-SGD200. Half of the profits will be donated to the Singapore’s Children Cancer Foundation.
