J.K. Rowling is back! The author of the beloved Harry Potter series announced the release of a children’s fairy-tale book called The Ickabog. In a series of tweets, Rowling shares the details of her latest instalment and a clear disclaimer that it is not a spin-off of the Harry Potter series, as much as everyone wish it is.
Over time I came to think of The Ickabog as just for my family. The manuscript went up into the attic, where it remained until a few weeks ago.
This is the very dusty box I got down from the attic.

The Ickabog was written over 10 years ago but it became a forgotten gem… until now. With photos of the initial draft, both handwritten and printed, from a box found in the attic, Rowling intends to publish the book – for FREE! While it targets children of 7 to 9 years old, a book by Rowling is an ageless and timeless piece.
Rowling will be releasing a chapter (or two) every day until 10 July 2020 on this website! Not only that, she is holding a friendly competition for kids to illustrate the book. Winners will have their masterpiece printed as physical copies when the book is published in November 2020. Rowling also pledge to donate her author royalties to COVID-19 organisations.
