Want to find out if OPPO’s cameras are as good as it claims to be? Head over to The Playground, an interactive pop-up store located outside the main entrance of Wisma Atria on Orchard Road, where OPPO’s latest camera phones will be put to the test through curated photography studios.
You can test out these features at The Playground’s night-time photography studio to experience how the dual rear cameras perform, capture the ultimate ‘Gram in the beauty box to see how OPPO’s AI Beauty Recognition technology stacks up, and discover for themselves just how impressive images are when captured by the R11s and R11s Plus in the portrait studio.
New technology for the ultimate smartphone photography experience
The dual rear cameras on the R11s and R11s Plus have been re-engineered to capture the highest quality of portraits for both day and night conditions.
The 16MP and 20MP rear cameras function as primary cameras for different light conditions. The 16MP rear camera takes on the primary role of normal everyday shots in brightly lit environments, while the 20MP high definition camera becomes the main camera for low-light environments.
OPPO’s AI Beauty Recognition technology on the front camera scans for 254 facial recognition points in 3D for each subject, references them against a database of facial images, and analyses features based on gender, age, skin texture, skin colour, expression and environment scenarios before making enhancements that are customised for each subject. As a result, selfies are all the more visually stunning, without compromising the natural look of each selfie subject.
Together with the dual cameras and enhanced AI technology, the R11s and R11s Plus offers a higher sensitivity to light and large aperture to allow more light into the device, resulting in even clearer and brighter images than ever before.
Simple yet bold design
For an immersive camera phone experience, the OPPO R11s features a 6.01-inch full-screen display to bring images to life, and is available in black, champagne and red. The red model is a special variant, developed with a unique starry sky screen. On the other hand, the R11s Plus comes equipped with a 6.43-inch full-screen display, battery, and more RAM than the R11s, and is available in champagne and black.
The crescent arc design of both phones, which are the concave indentations at the bottom edges, holds the headphone jack, speaker and mini USB port. Sound projection is no longer muted by the user’s hands. At the same time, OPPO has enhanced the firm grip and aesthetics of the slim and sleeker body, which rests snugly in the palm.
Under the hood, the R11s and R11s Plus are powered by the Qualcomm SnapdragonTM 660 chipset that comes with exceptional battery life with the 3205mAh battery and the proprietary VOOC Flash charge technology.
Enhanced user experience with ColorOS 3.2
The R11s and R11s Plus run on ColorOS 3.2, which has an overall smoother performance, is faster and safer, and even enables users to multitask using the split screen mode. Facial unlock uses AI to recognise the user and can unlock the phones in just 0.08 seconds. Other unlocking functions such as a password and fingerprint scanner on the back of the phones have also been made available on the R11s and R11s Plus.
