The B-Boy competition that attracts the best in the world and gives any B-Boy an equal chance to compete is returning to Singapore for the second year running! Red Bull BC One organised by the European Red Bull, is happening on 8 June 2013 at Aliwal Arts Centre will feature 50 local B-boys who have successfully applied to battle.
Presenting a unique 1-on-1 knock-out format, the B-boys from Singapore will be judged by a panel of three internationally renowned B-boys made up of Red Bull BC One All Star ROXRITE (USA), B-Boy True Colours (SG) and B-Boy Sabamon (MAL). The winner will be selected based on the criteria of originality, technique and stage presence and will represent Singapore at the Red Bull BC One Asia-Pacific qualifier in Tokyo, Japan this coming September. The final 16 will battle on a global stage at the world final in Seoul, Korea this December.
In addition, two workshops are also being hosted by Red Bull BC One All Star ROXRITE on 7 and 9 June 2013.
“We have seen a lot of growth in the dance scene in Singapore in recent years. Although B-Boying is a young scene in Singapore, competitions like Red Bull BC One will definitely a platform to for local B-Boys to further their talent and keep them sharp on their feet. We asked Red Bull BC One ROXRITE (USA) to be a judge at the event but also to be a mentor during a series of workshops which we will hold in Singapore so that he can inspire and impart his knowledge for the next generation of B-Boys here,” said a Red Bull spokesperson.
