Dive deep into your senses like you’ve never done before at Sensorium, a 2-day festival from 17 to 18 November, which features exhibitions, workshops, tastings and crafted gifts.
Introduced in Singapore for the first time, this sensation-driven carnival presents six unique attractions that promise to invoke a sense of awe and curiosity in all. This includes an installation of scented jars, Christmas candle-making, a bubble parade and hands-on mixology sessions for all ages and sensory tastes.
The Sensorium Journey
Roll up! Roll up! Sensorium will bring you along on a dream-like sensory journey through a fantastical apothecary of potions that will ignite your passions.
Purchase your coupons the old school way – via a carnivalesque ticket booth at the entrance of the Funan Showsuite located at High Street. Coupons are available in denominations of $5 and $10 and they can be used to redeem F&B as well as other merchandise at the carnival.
Bumble Bee Breath
To get your journey started off on the right note, the festival’s first attraction invites you to try out an ancient yoga breathing technique – Bumble Bee Breath. This first induction into the world of Sensorium slows us down, calms the noise in our minds and puts us into the right frame of mind to fully appreciate the Sensorium journey ahead.
Jars of Smell
Engage your sense of smell and sharpen its sensitivities at The Jars of Smell interactive installations. Challenge your friends and put your olfactory glands to the test by correctly identifying twelve different jars of smells. Here, avid sensorialists can observe a 20-litre copper steam distill extracting magical essential oils from selected barks and herbs.
The Rose Society
Meander through the space and you will be transported into the floral world of The Rose Society, where visitors will find themselves enveloped in fresh blooms. Here, skincare junkies can find a showcase of Mamonde’s finest flora-infused skincare products.
Eye of the Sun
Time for a time-out. Find a seat up at the amphitheater and take in the Eye of the Sun installation and witness a breathtaking visual time-lapse of the sun. Take a mindful moment to reflect and appreciate the seconds and minutes that make up each day.
On Sunday, 18th November, turn up the volume and embark on an acoustic journey with Indonesian electronic pop duo and music festival regulars, Bottlesmoker. Groove along with the duo, who had performed at last year’s Laneway Festival and learn all about experimental, or indietronic music.
The Tickle Room
Get ready to engage your sense of touch – the most underrated of our five senses, as you venture into The Tickle Room on the second floor. Shhhh this one involves feathers…Capture your Sensorium experience with loved ones with Lyf’s retro instant-prints!
