Syndicate, Singapore’s audio-visual collective, teams up with The Substation for a second year of Syndicate Subsessions, a series of performances full of experimental sounds and stunning visuals. Syndicate steps out of their comfort zone by moving out of a club and into a performance space. By doing so, they intend to give performers to discover innovative presentations for their music and develop a different environment where full focus will mainly be given to music performance and visual presentation.
And what better way to kick off its second year than have two exceptional musical artists from Syndicate bring out some tunes? Often seen collaborating on stages around the globe, the two artists will be having independent performances this time.
One half of Octover and known to many as Vanessa Fernandez, the multi-talented songstress, Vandetta, brings together her sultry voice and some live-looping, vocal-processing and button-pushing action to the show. Expect tracks from her upcoming release and watch as she explores the strange world of the electronic realm and expresses herself completely in music.
One of Southeast Asia’s pioneers of left field electronica, Kiat is prepared to take on the Subsessions stage. Commonly known for his club sets, this showcase will reveal another side of Kiat, leaning towards the style and sounds of his full-length album, The Inner Galaxy. Kiat, together with The Inner Galaxies, consisting of Jason Tan from Octover, acclaimed artist Andy Yang and multi-instrumentalist Isaac Aesili, are ready to take you on a journey of exploration and new heights.
Presenting the visual journeys for both performances will be Syndicate resident visualist, Brandon Tay.
