In this highlights edition for Taipei in Style 2014, we gathered four more labels that had caught our eye in terms of creativity, design concept and artwork.
Methodology
Hong Kong label, Methodology, is named as such as it offers individuals different methods to wear. The accessory collection is versatile in form and design. Made up of different removable components, the necklaces and bracelets can transform according to the wearer’s fancy.
Basic shapes such as circles and triangles are key design elements while upcycled lamb skin leather and brass are used as the main construction materials.
Juicy
Juicy is a Japanese label with a style that is inspired by nature and the outdoors. The brand caters to women who enjoy outdoor activities, camps, music festivals, chilling out in cafés and travelling. Constructed with a comfortable fit suited for an active lifestyle, the apparels comprise knitted and embroidered designs mixed with various materials. Lively colours play a key role in infusing character in the collections as well.
WXY
Taiwanese shoe label, WXY, reminds us that going back to basics could be key to looking fresh and good. Inspired by personalities of close friends, WXY presents a twist to classic silhouettes and creates shoes that are genderless and comfortable. Even though the label does not want to be known as an environmentalist, it uses upcycled leather in its products while carefully considering the state of the environment.
Shoes are also constructed to be more spacious inside, yet appear aesthetically slim on the outside. WXY commonly uses yellow tones to represent hope.
Dartmeco
A Taiwanese label that embraces freedom and pleasure in life, Dartmeco combines playfulness, dark humour, and a whimsical touch in its distinctive designs.
