Sometimes we all are so caught in the hustle and bustle of the city life, we forget how much we contribute to our life and perhaps another person’s life. In commemoration of National Day, The Best of Singapore series was created. The goal of the videos is to pay tribute to seemingly ordinary roles in Singaporean society that tend to be overlooked. The Best of You Movement, on the other hand, is one that runs across Singapore and Malaysia with an aim to allow people to stop, and reflect on what they’ve achieved thus far and to realise their worth.
In the hopes of encapsulating the essence of Singaporean culture, the movement has featured a wide spectrum of interviewees which include, Denzyl, an 11-year-old Indian boy whose fluent Mandarin has landed him a role in Wayang Boy, an upcoming film in which he sings and performs Chinese Opera, Joelle and Daniel, a couple in their 20s who have decided to serve the nation as regular soldiers, Iqbal, a construction worker from Bangladesh, and Kenneth and Yew Jin, voluntary members of the National Day Parade fireworks media team.
