Singapore’s hottest pop band, The Sam Willows have collaborated with Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and TLC for the new season of “A Taste of Hong Kong”. Premiered on 4 August, the programme focused on showcasing refreshing perspectives of Hong Kong. Throughout the season, key opinion leaders from Southeast Asia are invited to spend a day with co-host and Hong Kong singer-actress Josie Ho, where they spend ‘a-day-in-her-life’ on an adrenalised insider tour of the city.
Episode three – “Hong Kong After Dark” – is co-hosted by The Sam Willows where Josie Ho takes them around the bustling city ‘after dark’. In only 48 hours, the band gets to experience the enchanting city’s night hotspots like a true local. From the go-to places for true partygoers to the night-foodies, the quartet explore all dimensions of what makes up the Hong Kong nightlife.
The Sam Willows had an unforgettable experience on their very first trip to Hong Kong as a band, “Hong Kong charmed us with its rush of culture, food and people. It felt like home away from home; we can’t wait to go back for round two!”
Over the two nights of after dark explorations, the band skipped many of the normal tourist attractions, and experienced the true Hong Kong nightlife with Josie Ho. The pop quartet even met with the organisers of The Gig Week Hong Kong, which focuses on celebrating Hong Kong’s local music scene. They were invited to perform and appear at the event as special guests, which was the perfect conclusion to their two nights visit.
The episode with The Sam Willows (E3 “Hong Kong After Dark”), will be broadcast on TLC on 28 August, Monday, 9.55pm.
