The Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne has recently revealed that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in January 2020. Last year, Osbourne had cancelled multiple tours and was in and out of the hospital.
It began early last year when a bad flu had evolved into bronchitis and eventually a full-blown pneumonia. While that was already traumatic enough, Osbourne sustained a fall at home whilst recovering. The fall had unfortunately complicated an old injury from his ATV accident in 2003. As a result, the metal rods placed in his upper back had pushed through crushing his spine.
Osbourne had to undergo 3 spinal surgeries, all of which forced his to cancel his world tours. It was during this time that he found out he had Parkinson’s disease. He also developed blood clots in his legs during recovery. This was a huge set back in Osbourne’s life.
Regardless of his health, Ozzy Osbourne is making a comeback this year. With the release of his new album ‘Ordinary Man’ on 21 February, Osbourne told Kerrang! “making this album is the best medicine I could have had”.
While it is unsure if the Prince of Darkness will be touring this year, Osbourne has made his first appearance after his announcement at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. Aided with a walking stick, he posed alongside his daughter Kelly Osbourne on the red carpet. We hope for more good news for the family in 2020.
