Other Sounds have been up to something big! In partnership with Bone Soup from Australia and Papaiti Records from New Zealand, Other Sounds presents the Tonstartssbandht Asia and Oceania Tour.
Tonstartssbandht (pronounced tahn-starts-bandit), made up of brothers Andy and Edwin White, will be on a 13-date tour through December and January 2014/15. Before playing at Blu Jaz, Singapore, the band will be at its first stop of the tour – Findars, Kuala Lumpur. After performing at Jakarta, Bangkok, and Hanoi, the brothers will travel to Australia and then to New Zealand.
The Floridian brothers, both of whom belong to their own bands – Mac DeMarco and Eola – describe their sound as “psychedelic boogie rock”. Edwin’s driving percussion never drops a beat, while Andy creates luscious and expansive sounds on his 12-string Danelectro, melding perfectly with the duo’s angelic vocal harmonies.
The brothers have played in Russia, Europe, and North America and will now be, for the first time, in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Ticketing details will be out soon.
