Don’t be surprised if you see a group of cyclists, say 90 or so, around Singapore this 15 November 2014. The Tour of Singapore returns for its fourth year, gathering cycling enthusiasts for a synchronised ride around Singapore.
Organised by cycling collective Crank Arm Steady, this year’s Tour of Singapore is inspired by the movie “Cannonball Run” and will see 30 teams of three riders following a 150km route and with the occasional check-ins at various checkpoints.
With no sponsors but plenty of support from the fixed gear community, the Tour aims for the participants to work together as a team throughout the ride. “It’s a throwback to the original idea of the Tour of Singapore,” said Yasin, one of the organisers. “And that is to get friends together and cycle around the island. Have fun together, suffer together, and to enjoy the whole experience.”
