A true retail treat is one that conveys a sense of novelty, rousing your excitement as you make exceptional discoveries. This pretty much sums up the experience delivered by Treats of the Trade, a retail exhibition, ideally situated at Mad Nest from 19 September 2013 to 19 November 2013.
The exhibition gathers alternative online fashion, lifestyle and craft stores and gives them a tangible space where consumers can interact and experience their products up-close. From the sartorial offerings of Crawford & Sons, to local heritage-inspired knickknacks from When I Was Four, to artisanal homeware products from Four & Twenty and handcrafted knits from Hanana, Treats of the Trade hopes to encourage the appreciation of crafted objects.
Music albums from local record labels like Kitchen Label, Riot Records and artiste, Nick Chim are also displayed to draw attention to their album artworks, which were painstakingly created but often overlooked.
Concluding the exhibition is a flea market that involves all participating online retailers, where the public can indulge in a day of shopping, food and fun. More details about the event will be available soon.
