UNIQLO is back with a new collection and new promotions this May! Nookmag has got a sneak peek at them and these are our picks, including some #OOTD ideas if you intend to get some of these pieces. Two of them are from the Ines De La Fressange collaboration, and of course, the French model and fashion designer would be the perfect style icon for these pieces. They were named after and inspired by her, after all!
But we can’t all be Ines, so here are some suggestions on our picked Uniqlo pieces! This Kimono-esque top, for example, can be worn for a work day, dinner, or a laidback Sunday with your friends. For a work outfit, pair the Ines De La Fressange Cache-coeur T-shirt ($29.90) with a pair of fitting white pants and a camisole underneath.
This tee also goes with pencil skirts and stilettos. You can also wear it kimono like fashion blogger Aimee Song! Aimee shows you how to style a simple wrap with cutoff and studded denim.
You can never go wrong with a simple button down cardigan, or in this case, the Ines De La Fressange Light Crew Neck Cardi ($49.90). With no collars, you can choose to leave one or two buttons unbuttoned to give it a more casual, laid-back look. A basic piece like this goes with everything from jeans to shirts to skirts.
Cardigans are also a favourite staple of Alexa Chung. The fashion icon has been seen incorporating a simple cardigan into her outfits. A staple piece like the Light Crew Neck Cardigan matches right with a pair of good jeans or layered outfits.
Stepping away from the Ines de La Fressange pieces, this is one that is perfect for Singapore’s hot and humid weather! There are so many ways to style this Jonathan Adler Sleeveless Blouse ($29.90). You can easily leave the top unbuttoned and tie the ends of each side together to bring on the 60s vibe.
If you’re daring enough, you can even skip the tank top and just show a bit of your belly and make it a crop top.
This Silk Sleeveless Blouse ($49.90) is more flowy than the Jonathan Adler Sleeveless Blouse. And that means this silk top is a breezier option!
It can be styled the same way, but you can also pair it with white denim high waisted shorts (to go with a printed piece) and wear a pair of neutral coloured sneakers or sandals like below:
Printed t-shirts are the easiest piece of clothing to style because it is a statement piece in itself. The Jonathan Adler T-shirt ($24.90) will add a pop of colour and print to your wardrobe.
You can choose to style printed t-shirts with a colour within the print itself, in this case white. Some prints go well with other prints. The trick is to find one that is more subtle than the other, so that the mixture is not too overwhelming. We love how the outfit below is a good mix of prints!
UNIQLO is also having two in-store promotions with the purchase of the Chupa Chups girls UTs and the Bearbrick UTs! With every purchase of 2 Bearbrick UTs, customers will be entitled to a free limited edition Bearbrick keychain. Here’s another promotion, limited to selected stores: with every purchase of a Girl’s Chupa Chups Graphic T-shirt, the child will get a chance to grab and keep as many Chupa Chups lollipops as they with one hand. This promotion will be held at the following stores only: Bugis+, Plaza Singapura, VivoCity, 313@Somerset, Bedok Mall, Causeway Point, City Square Mall, Jem®, Liang Court, Parkway Parade, Suntec City and Chinatown Point.
