With the ever-worsening conditions of the COVID-19 outbreak, hand hygiene is at its utmost importance (not that it was not before). While it is recommended for us to wash our hands for at least 20 seconds or as long as singing the ‘Happy Birthday’ song twice, a teenager from Northamptonshire, England has changed the game.

Creating a website in under 24 hours, it generates a poster with steps to handwashing using the lyrics to your favourite song! All you have to do is enter the name of your favourite song, the artist, a choice of gel or bar soap, and you are good to go! In under 3 days, more than 300,000 posters were generated.

All thanks to the 17-year-old developer and designer William Gibson, we do not have to depressingly sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to ourselves twice every time we wash our hands.
