Discover the playwright in you at the second edition of Writing From the Heart, an interactive 6-day playwriting workshop conducted by renowned playwright and novelist Tony Perez. Last year’s inaugural session discovered 30 new writers, and with Tony Perez’s guidance and expertise, these writers are set to become big names in the industry.
Not only does the series aim to discover new playwrights, it also wants to develop new plays through a post-workshop mentorship and dramaturgy programme. Writing From the Heart will include a series of hands-on exercises which include drawing, dialogue and interpersonal interaction between participants. Such activities bring out personal experiences and ideas, a goldmine for material and inspiration.

The series starts with an introduction to the workshop, includes a session on creating characters and dialogue, creating a dramatic plot, and more.
The workshop is open to participants 17 year-olds and above and will run from 1 – 6 December 2014, and held at 72-13 Mohamed Sultan Road. There is a registration fee of SGD 200. Writing From the Heart is limited to 20 participants.
